I purchased a set of two unicorns for my great-niece’s birthday. She was immediately delighted, and she and her 8-year-old sister had a blast “riding” the unicorns around the yard. Riding them seemed to require a fair amount of exertion on the kids’ part, but someone in the family remarked that the kids would sleep well that night. The only negative is that the unicorns sometimes needed to be reinflated. But in all the chaos of the birthday party, I couldn’t tell whether that was because the valve that’s used for inflating hadn’t been properly closed or had gotten snagged on a bit of clothing. Regardless, the kids loved the unicorns. Within half an hour of opening the gift, my 6-year-old great-niece had named her unicorn Rose.
